Green School Project: Building a Sustainable Future
Last semester, our school launched the "Green School Project" to reduce plastic waste and promote eco-friendly habits among students. The program introduced new rules such as bringing reusable bottles, planting trees around the campus, and organizing a weekly "Clean Friday" where all students participated in cleaning the schoolyard.
Teachers also integrated environmental topics into various subjects. In English class, we wrote persuasive essays about reducing pollution. In science, we experimented with composting food waste and making eco-bricks from plastic bottles. Art classes encouraged students to reuse materials to create decorations and crafts for exhibitions.
The highlight of the project was the "Eco Fair," where each class presented creative solutions to environmental issues. Some students showcased solar-powered mini-fans, while others created posters and dramas to spread awareness. The fair was attended by parents, local community members, and environmental activists who praised the students' efforts.
Through this project, students realized that small daily actions—like refusing single-use plastics—can have a big impact. More importantly, the program inspired us to continue practicing sustainability at home and in our community, not just at school.
