Borobudur Temple
Borobudur Temple is one of the most famous Buddhist monuments in the world. It is located in Central Java, Indonesia. Built in the 9th century, the temple is considered a masterpiece of Buddhist architecture and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its magnificent design and historical significance make Borobudur a popular destination for tourists and pilgrims.
The temple consists of nine stacked platforms, six square and three circular, topped by a central dome. It is decorated with more than 2,600 relief panels and 500 Buddha statues. The central dome is surrounded by 72 Buddha statues, each seated inside a perforated stupa. The detailed carvings on the walls illustrate various aspects of Buddhist teachings and Javanese culture.
Borobudur is not only an architectural wonder but also a spiritual symbol. Pilgrims usually walk around each level of the temple in a clockwise direction as a form of meditation and devotion. From the top of the temple, visitors can enjoy a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains and lush green fields, creating a peaceful and serene atmosphere.
Today, Borobudur is preserved as a cultural treasure of Indonesia. It continues to attract millions of visitors from around the world every year. The temple plays an important role in Indonesian tourism and education, as well as in preserving the nation’s cultural and religious heritage for future generations.

What is a descriptive text?
Descriptive text is a text that describes the characteristics of a thing, a place, or a person. A descriptive text describes general things. It can be about food, animals, hobby, music, fashion, etc. In a descriptive text, the writer gives facts and opinion about those things. If the text describes a place, it explains why the place is special. If the text describes a person, it can explain about famous people or important people in the writer’s life.
What is the function of a descriptive text?
Descriptive text is to describe a particular person, place or thing. A descriptive text aims to show the reader what something or someone is like. By giving specific information about the object, the writers expects that the readers understand the same thing about the object being described.
What are the characteristics of a descriptive text?
A descriptive text starts with identification. It has general information of that thing of the thing that the text describes. It later gives description, in which there are more explanations about the thing. This is what people usually mean by generic structure.
The generic structure of a descriptive text is: identification and description. As long as there are those two points, a descriptive text can always be done. A descriptive text uses mostly present tense. However, the writer may also use other tenses depends on the needs.
